It’s officially over: Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen confirm they’ve finalized divorce
The two announced their split in a statement released on Friday.
“After a number of discussions, it has been mutually agreed that the time has come to end things,” their statement read. “We are very proud of what we have accomplished together and are incredibly appreciative of the love, respect and friendship we have shared. We remain committed to our family and wish each other nothing but the best.”
The statement also included a photo of the two embracing.
Brady had been seeking full custody of the couple’s two children, as well as spousal support from Gisele for more than two years.
Brady and Gisele were married in January 2005. The couple have been together for 15 years, and have three children together. Gisele filed for divorce in March 2015, after Brady accused her of making numerous unwanted physical and emotional advances during their two years of marriage.
In the days after the marriage, Brady, 42, accused Gisele of lying about his infidelity, as well as cheating on him in 2013 with rapper Ray J.
Gisele responded by filing for divorce later the same month, and has maintained that she was not the source of Brady’s affair.
