Inside the Murder Hole: The Rise, Fall and Rise of America’s Serial Killer premieres on Discovery Channel on October 2

Ryan Murphy says families of Dahmer victims didn’t respond to his team’s inquiries.

The documentary Inside the Murder Hole: The Rise, Fall and Rise of America’s Serial Killer also has a trailer for its upcoming third season, which debuts on October 2 on the Investigation Discovery channel.

The series has received praise from the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Diane Sawyer and Laura Poitras.

“No one should have a chance to experience the impact of violent crime on another human being,” Oprah Winfrey said in a statement. “For this reason, I am honored to be a part of this unique show and am thrilled to partner with Discovery Networks on a compelling documentary that is creating an awareness of the impact that violent crime has on innocent lives and communities.”

Discovery channel says Inside the Murder Hole: The Rise, Fall and Rise of America’s Serial Killer has received almost 50 million views so far and has made over $15 million in its first five months on-air.

Murphy said the series has been difficult to make because of “extremely difficult people” and “extremely difficult stories.”

“There’s been a lot of love and a lot of support from the families of these people, but we have had some very difficult conversations,” he said.

Murphy said they wanted to do a show “from within that community of people. It’s from the perspective of the families of people who have gone through it, that’s really how I wanted to do the show.”

He added: “This isn’t a show about the criminals.”

Murphy said that he is “a believer” that the show will help to open the eyes of people who watch it.

Inside the Murder Hole: The Rise, Fall and Rise of America’s Serial Killer premieres Wednesday, October 2 at 8:30 pm on Investigation Discovery in the US and Ireland. It will air in Australia and New Zealand. It is expected to begin in the UK on October 6.

The network is also currently airing its second season of The First 48, a show that explores how a woman whose husband was fatally assaulted by a serial killer was able to turn the tables on the man by giving testimony against him in a court of law.

A number of the series’ stars are in the new season of Inside the Murder Hole.
