The Abortion Issue Is a Tool to Protect the Right of the Individual and the Nation

Editorial: Michigan voters can show the country how to protect abortion rights, too

The people of Michigan will soon decide on what will become the nation’s most restrictive abortion law.

This is the first time that more than half the country – in every part of the country – will be required to vote on whether the state should make the abortion procedure, which was once legal in every state, completely illegal.

Michigan is one of only two states with an unfunded mandatory vote on the ballot Nov. 6.

Every law has a deadline, and the deadline has come for Michigan.

It is as simple as this: if the voters of Michigan don’t allow Gov. Rick Snyder to put in place a law forcing doctors to tell women they have to undergo an abortion to preserve their health, then he can do nothing to pass the law.

There is a reason that the first time this issue should have been in the hands of the voters involved the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court.

The abortion issue is a very powerful tool which, if properly utilized, can be used to protect the right of privacy and allow individuals to determine their own circumstances.

Abortion is often a difficult choice, one which brings with it both freedom and responsibility.

For most women, abortion is a decision which comes after years of life.

Women who want an abortion seek one out of fear and often find themselves unable to care for themselves or their children.

These are the women who are most likely to consider an abortion, but for who, the abortion decisions, we must begin by being honest with ourselves and the people who we surround ourselves with.

The abortion issue is a tool to be used for the good of the individual and the nation.

We must recognize that those who have no ability or capacity to care for themselves have no need for government assistance, and that women who seek an abortion are the very women who are the “poor” in our society.

But, if we are to truly value each life, then we must fight for the rights of women who have to make these difficult decisions which will have an impact on their lives.

Michigan voters must make this right.
