The 2015 IIHF Super Globe Division III Men’s World Championship will be Canada’s fifth appearance at the event.

“It’s the largest summer event yet,” said Markham Hockey Hall of Famer Bob Hartley. “I think it’s an incredible experience for our country and we’ve got a great roster. We play as a team and we have a good team.”

The Canadian Men’s Team played Russia in the final game of the 2015 IIHF Super Globe Division Three Men’s World Championship in Halifax, Nova Scotia and finished with a 4-2 record and two wins.

“We played some good teams and they were all well-coached,” said Calgary Flames prospect Ryan Ditte. “I’m just glad we could stick with each other. Our chemistry was a lot of fun to be a part of.”

It is the second time Canada has won at the Super Globe Division of the World Championship. After a 4-1 win over France in 1976, the country won the event for the fifth straight time in 1978.

Canada finished with just one regulation loss, a 3-2 loss to Russia in the quarterfinals, while getting blanked by the Czech Republic 7-0 in the early game of the semifinals.
