The US Open begins to wind down on Sunday. And for the first time ever, the women’s open is not the sole stop of the tournament. The men’s final will take place on the first Monday in early June.

Here are my predictions on how those matches will go:

Daniela Hantuchová def. Caroline Garcia: One of the main questions that remains to be answered at the US Open this year, is how Hantuchová will deal with the pressure. She always seems to come back strong. She is a winner in every match she plays at the US Open ever.

And she has never won the US Open. In fact, she has never done so in her career. She has failed to reach the finals of the US Open three times. In her last appearance, she was defeated by Angelique Kerber in the fourth round. Her victory record is a mess. She has never played on Centre Court of the US Open. Her best finish was in the third round of the 2010 US Open in a four-set defeat to then-No. 1-ranked Caroline Wozniacki. Garcia has won the US Open title in 2012. She is a veteran at this tournament.

Cara-Cristina Marchetti Def. Ashleigh Barty: Ashleigh Barty has had an off year. She lost in the second round of the US Open this year in an exciting four-set match against compatriot Simona Halep. She is the defending champion and is now in her fourth US Open final.
